I seen this advert the other day and at first I didnt know what it was for yet thats when I spotted the Audi logo, I think Audi allways produce high quallity cars and advertisments for those cars.

Get the story behind the design process of the new Nike Flyknit technology.
Seen this and it caught my attention, what appeals to me about this is the story, and the process they go through however i don’t believe in nike…

My mock up idea, I took inspiration from the printed piece “work hard and be nice to people” by Anthony Burrill, what appealed to me about his design was the softness of the background and the balance of the bold dark text which I have tried to develop in my own style.

17th February “Johnothan Barnbrook”
During the talk Barnbrook mentioned,
Studied at St.Martins
Student work:
- Stephen wolf prints
- Stone carving-drilling into stone
Typefaces:
- Creations of universe-Album covers
- Exoce
- Prozac
- Mason/Manson
format, shape, form. in the past the discipline was boring, the computer then came in and during the (90s) this new machine created a universe of type.
Expression of language
“FUCK IT, THE FUCKING FUCKERS FUCKING FUCKED” Turret type
Anthony Burgess clock work orangeTo improve society
Utopia-Modernist-Corbusier-BauhausI really enjoyed Barnbrook’s talk, he went through his career to what he is doing presnt. what appealed to me most was his typefaces and one which I thought was ironic was that Disney used the Manson violent type for there snow white film, also his corporate work really stood out: Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, and also Dignity the funaral directors-Black ambulance. overall his career is overwhelming and i thought his talk was great.

10th February “Hellovon”
A freelance designer, most of his inspiration came from his dad & his box of drawings which he did as a child growing up. music and motion (good things happen to those who wait) Guiness black and white video, black and white because its more atmospheric.
2006 junior freelance designer some work, sexy vector ladies, catwalk images, illustrations vinyl toys everywhere.
Illustrations and design shows:
- Two face the changing of portrait WIWP
- Cosh
- If you could
- Design museum-50 years of Helvetica
- Hellovon at NYC-07 “kicked of animal series from portraits”
What puzzled me about Hellovon was that he had the chance to design album covers, OK they were not the best of bands but hes said no, however he did design for Nike for the world cup advertisements yet (slave labour) hmmm but his response was you have to say no to somethings. He went on to his Olympic pieces which were really good yet the layouts I thought were not the best.
Overall I did enjoy his talk yet I thought some of his work was not the best.

Tony Brook 02/03/2012
What appealed to me during his lecture was the work he did for the design museum London. The corporate design and clients were really overwhelming and Brook was discussing how he got in touch with director of the Design museum and explained his thoughts and ideas which was to put together a new corporate branding theme for the museum, they were impressed with his ideas and so they went to work and Brook showed sketches and mock ups of how he worked from getting started to designing prototypes, he said that sketches start with a line, he sees what they can be and what they can do, I thought this was a nice method of thinking and a great way for moving forward. He told us there is a story about everything made, he then explained about how he came up with the idea of having the design museum +, the idea is to have the design museum +designers name when there is an exhibition being shown at that time, this really appealed to me.
